Tim Winton says: “An historic opportunity for large marine sanctuaries”
seal pictureWe have less than 10 days to turn around an historic opportunity to protect Australia’s unique and threatened South West marine life, but we need your help.
The Federal Government has just proposed to declare a network of marine reserves off the South West; however it has ignored 8 out of 10 critical hotspots for marine life, including areas important for threatened blue whales, dolphins and endangered Australian sea lions.
Make sure the right places are protected with large marine sanctuaries when public comment closes in 10 days - and counting. The result could change the future of marine protection for ever. Take action now

Business Support
Businesses can now register their support for the Coral Sea. Simply head to our Business Support page and fill in the online form. It doesn't cost anything for your business to register its support and your business will then be added to our 'honour roll'.
"The reefs in the Coral Sea region are still almost untouched and support a healthy population of large to micro marine critters. There are hardly any places left like this on the planet. It is worth all our efforts to maintain it," said Dirk Werner-Lutrop, owner of Diversion Diver Travel.
Upcoming Events – Get Involved!
31 July, Hawaii
Molokai to Oahu Paddle Race
dan pearce and dean storeySupporters Dan Pearce and Dean Storey are competing in the Molokai to Oahu paddle race in Hawaii and they thought this event would be a great opportunity to help spread the word and raise awareness about the Protect our Coral Sea campaign to an international audience of like minded ocean loving people.
“I guess the reason we would like to support the campaign is that we are both very passionate about the ocean and protecting it for future generations to experience and enjoy. We have both worked as lifeguards, surf guides and now work for Surf Life Saving NSW so the appreciation and respect for the ocean is obvious. The race gathers water men and women from all over the world each year and we see it as a great opportunity to spread the word about protecting this world famous piece of ocean”. Dean and Daniel
