Recreational Fishers  - What does a Coral Sea Heritage Park mean for you?

Offshore

The proposed Coral Sea Heritage Park is a long way offshore, starting on the other (eastern) side of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and extending to our maritime border with PNG, the Solomon Islands and New Caledonia.

Activities in the Park

Within the proposed Coral Sea Heritage Park, longlining and other commercial fishing, oil and gas exploration, seabed mining, and recreational fishing would not be permitted.  Dive and snorkel tourism, yachting, cruise and commercial shipping, and defence activities would continue.

Other fishing continues
